Shipping & Pattern Use Policy

Payment

Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Paypal payments are accepted.  I charge 8.5% Sales tax for California residents, per California regulations.  Your transaction will show up as "Wearing History" in your paypal account, which is my legal business name.

Returns Policy

All sales are final.  Please be certain of your pattern selection before placing your order.

If there is a problem with your transaction please contact me as soon as possible so we can work on a resolution.

If you are concerned about package loss or damage please request to add shipping insurance and tracking to your purchase for an additional fee that is based on package value. International packages can only be insured with express mail- priority and other mailing options does not include the option for insurance.

Shipping

Allow up to 10 days for patterns to ship.

This time frame allows me to fulfill each order, as it is placed.  I am a one-person one small enterprise, and Wearing History is my side job (as I am employed elsewhere), so I need to fit in order fulfillment and shipping when I can.  Unfortunately, I am not able to rush orders due to these time constraints.  Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

USPS raised postage prices in January 2013, and shipping rates are now to the current standard. 

I am only able to offer USPS Priority Mail shipping methods at this time. 

Order More Patterns and Save on Shipping!

Up to two Wearing History patterns can fit in one Flat Rate Priority Mail envelope for the same fee- this means that the second pattern ships for free! 

Likewise, after you purchase 3 patterns, the 4th will ship for the same rate with Priority Flat Rate Envelope.  

**PLEASE NOTE** Purchasing 3 or more patterns with Priority Flat Rate Envelope shipping option means that the patterns will arrive in multiple shipments.  Regular will combine the shipment into one package instead of recieving two seperate shipments.

Occasionally the shipping calculator on the website will be in error, in which case I will message you in case any extra funds are needed for shipping.

A NOTE FOR INTERNATIONAL (NON USA) CUSTOMERS-
Depending on your country customs charges may be applicable for purchases on your end. Customs charges vary from country to country- please check with your post office to see which charges may apply. Please note I do not mark items as "gift", and put the actual item price (excluding shipping) on forms according to US laws.  I do not cover customs charges, so please be sure to factor in any fees which may be incurred by your country's postal system. 

Shipping insurance for loss and damage and are only available for international shipping with Express Mail.  Please contact me if you desire to upgrade shipping.  Priority mail does not include tracking but the customs form number is attached to your paypal payment when I get your item ready to ship.  If you would like insurance and tracking for your puchase it will need to be upgraded to Express Mail- please message me for shipping quotes if you would like your items shipped this way.

I do not ship to destinations of Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria, via USPS regulations.  Sorry!

Transit Times, Tracking, Etc:

Holidays, weather, misrouted packages, and other unforeseen things may occur once the package is in the hands of the shipping agent which may delay the arrival. Paypal should forward you a tracking number through email on all orders within the USA, and if it doesn't you can find the number in your Paypal transaction record on the Paypal site.  

If you live outside the USA and want tracking for your puchase it will need to be upgraded to Express Mail (which also includes insurance)- please message me for shipping quotes if you would like your items shipped this way.  For international buyers you should expect Priority mail packages from 5-12 days from the time they ship. Packages can sometimes longer or shorter depending on delays.

Pattern Use Policy

Wearing History Patterns are for personal home sewing or non profit use ONLY.  These patterns may not be used to make clothing for sale or profit*.  

In the above, each of the terms means:

Personal Home Sewing= an individual creating clothing for themselves, their family, or their friends, without financial profit.

Non-Profit Use= Creation of clothing for something of which there is no financial gain.  This includes creation of clothing for charity work or charity auction, such as to aid a church group.  If you use a pattern for a non-profit activity, such as an education use, please have each of your students purchase a pattern for themselves.  Making copies of Wearing History pattern is not allowed. If you are teaching a class, please contact me, as I may be able to make a discount for your group to use if a certain amount of patterns are needed.  

*These patterns may be used for custom clothing, provided one pattern is purchased per client, as per industry standards.  Buying one pattern and making multiple garments in which you recieve financial gain is not allowed. Please purchase one pattern per client, or have the client purchase the pattern from me directly.  This way both the seamstress and I are compensated for our time and talents.

E-Pattern Use Policy

By purchasing and e-pattern, and clicking to the agreement before purchase, you agree to the following terms:  This e-pattern is licensed exclusively to the person who purchases this pattern from Wearing History for the sole purpose of home sewing or non-profit use.  Commercial or production use is prohibited.  Do not share this pattern by email or any other form.  Remember, I make my living by using my talents to make these patterns.  Help support indie small business by telling your friends to purchase their own copy of this pattern from http://wearinghistorypatterns.com 

Why the Use Policy?

Remember, I make my living using my talents to create these patterns, and do 99% of the work as a one-woman run independant pattern company.  I support small local business, as my prints are printed locally by a mom and pop print shop.  Supporting my work is also supporting other local small business.  It takes a very long time and years of accumilating professional skills to make these patterns.  Please respect my work, and help support indie small business by following the use policy outlined here.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. In the event of refused service the sale will be cancelled and a refund will be issued.
