New 1940's Apron Pattern, and What's in Store for 2012!

Posted on 12th Dec 2011 @ 9:03 PM

Hello all!

Just a quick note to check in. In case you haven't yet seen it on my blog or this website, I have a brand new pattern up!  The newest pattern is the 1940's apron pattern.

This pattern was inspired by an original 1940's apron pattern but has been extensively updated to include new step-by-step illustrated instructions, cutting charts for modern 45" fabric widths, and is multisize with bust sizes 32" to 44" all in the same envelope. You can find the new 1940's Apron Pattern here.

I also wanted to give you a sneak peek at what's in the works for this coming year.  I've always been fascinated by many eras of historical clothing, and this coming year I'm excited to announce that Wearing History is going a bit earlier in eras!  Most notably, I'm working on several great 1910s patterns which you will see coming out this year. Not only am I (and nearly everyone I know) completely smitten with the BBC show Downton Abbey, but this year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic.  The early 1900s to 1910s was the era that got me started on vintage clothing, so I'm exciting to be delving into these eras with you.

Also on the boards, for our vintage lovers, are a few 1940's basic separates and possibly some undergarments from a vintage era. I'm hoping to add some classy vintage knickers to the pattern range, and don't forget, I've still got the 1940's Bra e-pattern available!  Keep in mind when thinking of sewing vintage brassieres that patterns did not allow for modern cup sizes, so adjustments will more than likely be a necessity if you're brave enough to delve into vintage bra making ;)

So keep your eyes peeled for 1910s, 1940's, and undies patterns from Wearing History this coming year!

Hope you all have a very blessed holiday season!

Lauren
